HALL RENOVATION
The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH
Page Hall, located on the historic “Oval”, is being renovated to house the John
Glenn Institute and the School of Public Policy and Management. The building
and site pose a challenge due to the proximity of the adjacent buildings,
finish floor elevations, roadway alignment, service needs and pedestrian
volume. The solution reestablishes Page Hall as a presence on the Oval. An arc
walkway extends the edge of the Oval to Page Hall. The finish grade is lowered
to provide on-grade access and a major entry is created from the adjacent
parking garage. The monumental front stair remains as a gathering place,
descending to the lawn and Oval.
